Nova & Lily - 1.5 y/o and 5 m/o for adoption
Our Story
At the start of Covid, we began taking in abandoned and mistreated guinea pigs into our home. Located in Ventura, CA, we have since helped and found homes for many adorable piggies. Due to the state of the economy, we have recently put our rescue on hiatus and turned our in home rescue into a sanctuary for the remaining elderly and special needs guinea pigs in our care, only adopting out when vet clinics and other rescues reach out to us for help.
If you wish to help in other ways than adopting, contact us and we can provide that information. Thank you.
Guinea pig info
Rehoming because
At the end of October, we received an urgent call from a vet clinic about a couple that needed to surrender three adult guinea pigs. Their male got two females pregnant, which was very dangerous and irresponsible. The result was Nova lost three out of four pups, with the fourth mangled and needing to be put to sleep the next day by us. The other female birthed two pups, with a third being a still born. All three adults were malnourished and on the thin side. Both sows had some hair loss that have since regrown.
Both females up for adoption were given a clean bill of health day two of having them at our rescue by our trusted exotic vet. Nova has gained over 100 grams since arriving here, and all of her hair has regrown. She still needs to gain a bit of weight, but with proper care that will happen very quickly.
We heard about Lily from the SCGPR, asking us to get her since we were closer. The family that found her also managed to capture her. She had been loose outside for at least two weeks, but somehow had no injuries or illness.
Both females are very skittish. We have been trying to work with them to build their trust, but some guinea pigs have more than their prey drive, ptsd. Please be willing to be gentle with them and build up their trust, but do not expect an overnight fix or even one long term. We always handle guinea pigs as much as they want us to and respect their wishes.
We do not have the space for all of these sudden intakes. We had become a sanctuary, but given the situation there was nowhere else they could go. Please, text us and we'll provide all the information you need to start the adoption process.
GUINEA PIGS AREN'T BEGINNER PETS. HAVE DONE YOUR RESEARCH, OR BETTER YET HAVE A HISTORY OF PROVIDING PROPER CARE FOR THEM. THANK YOU.

Can you SHIP?
Sorry, NO. Please do not contact the owner and ask about shipping guinea pigs. It is NOT possible. Please look for guinea pigs LOCAL to you! That's what this site is for--helping you find a guinea pig close to home to adopt and love.
But I want THAT one!
Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
