Male, Tricolor, Abyssinian Guinea Pig

Our Story

Meet Nut. He is a beautiful and friendly Abyssinian Guinea Pig who is looking for his forever home. He is super sweet and loves to snuggle! He’s also very tame and does not have any issues with personal space, he does not hump, he does not bite, etc. His favorite snacks are carrots and lettuce!  I have another guinea pig that he was living with for around 6 months; however, once Nut got older and bigger, their bond, sadly, broke. My other guinea pig loves to hump, and Nut, understandably, does not like this. They are currently living separately, but as you all know, guiniea pigs need to be in pairs. I would house them separately side by side, but I simply don’t have the space for that. I love Nut so much, and it breaks my heart to let him go, but I want him to have a happy life where he can snuggle with another guiniea pig. As I mentioned above, I’m not sure if he would be the dominant guiniea pig, but he would definitely do better with a male who is not so aggressive with the humping (or a neutered female).  Ideally, I would want him to go to a home that is knowledgeable about guiniea pigs (especially bores). Bores require a large cage, so I would ask whoever is interested to keep that in mind. I just want the best for Nut and I want to ensure he’s going to a loving home that will provide him with all the love and care he deserves! :)  **Extra info: He was living with another skinny pig in a 6x2 c&c cage (with 2 lofts), fleece bedding (they are now separated in separate rooms). Food: daily hay, occasional pellets. Snacks: carrots and lettuce. Vitamin C drops in the water.  Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thank you!!

Rehoming because

He and my other guinea pig did not pair well together. My other guinea pig is the dominant one…and he loves to hump (a little too much honestly), but originally Nut was fine with this and took on the submissive role; however, once Nut got older and a little bigger, he no longer wanted to be the one on the bottom. I’m not sure if Nut 100% wants to be the dominant one in the pair, but he definitely did not like all the humping he was receiving from my other guinea pig.
