Busy Brothers Need More Attention

Our Story

Named Teddy and Bear, these boys came to us from a rescue. I did lots of research on guinea pigs before deciding to adopt them. They are skittish, but very gentle! We got the boys just under a year ago (Nov 2024). At that time they were just under a year old (bon Dec) so they will be 2 in December. They love eating their veggies, infact if they hear a knife cutting, they squeal! They also squeal if they hear grocery bags russtle! They are in a pack with Teddy (the lighter one) being the more dominate one. They chase eachother around the cage and Teddy mounts Bear a lot, but have been told this is normal behaviour as long as there is never any injury and there never is. They come with a 50lb bag of compressed timothy hay that is opened. It is not dust free and needs to be shaken before given to the boys, they will come with their cage, they also have 2 wood huts for their cage, 2 eating bowls, 2 water bottles, a plastic cage liner and 6 reusable fleece mats for the cage. They like the fleece but if you don't like the clean up of the reusable fleece, they have had paper bedding as well. I ran out of the vitamin c drops for their water and i just used the last of their kibble.

Rehoming because

I am rehoming my 2 handsome gentleman because our family has gone through several financial and medical setbacks over the last year that we have had the boys, that we have gotten behind on some significant bills. We have always made sure the boys have had everything they have needed, but we are now having to put the focus on the other bills that have been pushed down before. I have held on as long as I could, but after I had surgery, I wasn't able to catch them to cuddle with them to create a bond with us, and I feel that is very important. They aren't getting time outside of their cage anymore and I can not do that to an animal. That is how we knew it was time to rehome, when we realized how long it had been since they had been able to spend time outside of their cage!
