Two Male Guinea Pigs For Adoption W/ Supplies
Our Story
I had rescued these two from a free Craigslist listing two years ago with the desire to avoid them becoming food or worse. They had clearly been neglected, kept in a small pet shop cage on wood chips and given poor quality food with no fresh veggies. They immediately were moved into a 2x4’ Guinealoft acrylic enclosure with plenty of hides, a proper elevated water bowl, ceramic food bowls, Oxbow hay and pellets, safe toys and chews, snuffle mats, bath mats, fresh veggies, and more. Their personalities soon began to peek out and I started to give them the opportunity to free roam, approach me, and more to build a bond. Brownie became somewhat comfortable, still too skittish to be handled, but gnocchi regressed quickly. I typically used their acrylic hide to safely move them from the cage to the floor for deep cleaning and free roaming. Gnocchi will not go into this hide anymore, instead leaving me with no choice (after trying to coax with treats, give him time, etc.) but to practically tackle him with a washcloth to get him back into his space. They constantly rumblethump, teeth chatter at each other and myself, and never cease to wheek. They seem to be more comfortable with strangers who enter the home to approach them, so I truly feel that I simply was not the person for them and would like to give them another chance for proper happiness.

Rehoming because
One of the two has not bonded to me under any circumstances and seems to be absolutely horrified while attempting to maintain the enclosure, clip nails, and other routine care. He constantly teeth chatters any time I have approached or been nearby over the past 2 years and I would like for them to live with an individual they actually like and can bond to.I have additionally been struggling with severe headaches due to constant, loud wheeking despite all needs being met. This has impacted my mental wellbeing to an extent that I no longer feel fit as a proper caretaker.
