Sweet brothers need new home

Our Story

These two brothers have been with me since they were 6 weeks old. They were born around September 19th, 2020. Their names are Milkyway (as in the galaxy, due to a redness in his eyes) and Indie (short for Indiana Jones). Milkyway is black and white, and Indie is brown. Milkyway is the alpha of the 2 boys and Indie is submissive. They were great cuddlebuds when they lived with me, I'm not too sure about now. They are probably very bashful now, but should warm up quickly with snacks and cuddles. They are seniors now, and while I would love to have them back with me, sadly thats not possible right now, nor in the foreseeable future. They deserve better, they deserve to be loved and held, especially now that they are seniors. They also need to be bonded with 1 or more male guinea pigs because they are herd animals. And when 1 goes before the other, the one left behind will need 1 or more other guinea pigs in his life to help him through the pain of lossing his brother. These two are very closely bonded. They are brothers from the same litter, and don't really appreciate being away from each other, they prefer being near each other, even while cuddling. We've had two brothers as close as these two before and when 1 got sick and left his brother behind, his brother all but lost his will to live. It wasn't but a few months later when he started to act unwell and went peacefully in his sleep, he didn't even fight for his life. I honestly believe the only reason he lived so long after his brother's passing was for the love of his owner and 2 adopted brothers. I say this because it will likely be the same when one of these boys passes before the other and I want him to have an owner who loves him, and an adopted brother or multiple to keep him going.

Please email me with any questions you have. These boys are wonderful boys who deserve the best in their golden years. And while they are seniors, I'm sure that they still have plenty of love to give! ❤️

I'd prefer a home with guinea pig experience, but it's not required. If you are new to guinea pigs PLEASE do your research before contacting me, make sure you know what you're getting into.

They do have a midwest cage, fleece linners, and other accessories that can go with them for a price which we can discuss.

Rehoming because

I moved last year and couldn't take them with me. My grandparents offered to watch them until I could get them back, but that was over a year ago and I still can't bring them home. I wish I could have my boys with me but it's just not possible right now. On top of that, they are 4 years old now, and the reality is that they need to be bonded to other male guinea pigs so that when one passes before the other, the one left behind doesn't die from heartbreak.

Can you SHIP?

Sorry, NO. Please do not contact the owner and ask about shipping guinea pigs. It is NOT possible. Please look for guinea pigs LOCAL to you! That's what this site is for--helping you find a guinea pig close to home to adopt and love.

But I want THAT one!

Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
