Two Girls - Bonded Pair

Our Story

Hello

My name is Daniela. I’m 27 years old and I have a bonded pair of two female guinea pigs. I got them from a craigslist ad that a nice lady in Orange County put up. She did not have the resources to take care of the many she had. (5) She got Viola and Thursday from the Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue Center in Chatsworth. Viola was a year old and Thursday was 6 months old. We have been together ever since.

I keep them inside a 5 x 2 cxc cage with a 1 x 2 second + ramp. The cage is inside my bedroom constantly at room temperature. The girls like their own space but get along fairly well. I would prefer they be kept in the same cage unless serious fighting occurs (which hasn’t) and there is no reason for dividers at this time.

I feed them Timothy hay, Oxbow Garden Select Adult Guinea Pig food pellets, and bottled water.

Vegatables They Like: Bell pepper, Carrots, Celery, Romaine lettuce, CILANTRO, Parsley, Cucumber They will tolerate spinach and kale.

Fruit they like: Watermelon, Apple, Banana, Grapes, Tomato (fruit!), Strawberry

Viola- 4 years old, May

Viola is a brown tri-colored American guinea pig. She is a sassy and sweet girl. She has a soft wheek and is usually gentle. She doesn’t mind being petted and is easy to handle. She is also very curious about her surroundings!! She loves looking outside of her cage. I have to keep their cage elevated off the ground or else she will escape the cage to explore. She is also able to climb back into her cage somehow (lol.) I use two short bookshelves and a wooden plank to keep her from jumping out but you can also use a table. I also find it easier to clean their cage without bending over on the floor this way!!

Thursday- 3.5 years old, November

Thursday is a white tri-colored abyssinian guinea pig. She is more anxious than Viola but also sweet in her own way. Like most Abyssinians, she can be a little stubborn but when she feels comfortable, she loves to run around or sprawl out in her favorite spot. She likes to be in dark places where she can hide. When I first got Thursday, her previous owner gave me CBD cream to rub on her ears because Thursday gets a bit of anxiety. She also does not like to be held so much and will wiggle in your grip to get back to her cage. Despite her attitude, she is a lovely girl and won’t escape her cage.

That’s all I can think of for now. If you have any questions, please reach out. You can take everything I have for them as well. Cage, bedding, toys, all of it. I love these animals so much and just want them to go to a good safe home.
