Fluffy and Spunky Looking for New Home

A Updated

Our Story

Hello, my bonded pair of boy Guinea pigs are needing a new home with hopefully someone who is experienced with piggies. One is a skinny pig named Fluffy and the fluffier one (obsidian?) is named Spunky. They are bonded as far as I know and have never been separated. I received them from the local animal shelter and would prefer not to return them if I can find a good home for them here. Fluffy (skinny pig) is a lot more social than his brother. He will approach and absolutely loves feeding time. However, he’s not a big fan of being touched. Spunky is a lot more nervous and will run and hide when he sees you. We have gotten to the point where he will sometimes grab treats from my hand but it has been a work in progress. They love Timothy hay and all kinds of fun fruits and veggies. They will not eat any store bought Guinea pig treats, and don’t care for raspberries too much but will eat eventually.

I love these guys but I’m at the tough decision where rehoming them is what’s needed. Besides the expenses and time they take to care for, I’m also allergic to their hay and find myself having to rush out of their room after feeding. They also share a home with other animals, including a tortoise that continues to grow and needs the space for a new habitat. I’m looking for someone with Guinea pig experience to give them a good life, maybe someone who has owned skinny pigs in the past. I feel they would be happier with a bigger more open space. They’re adoption fee is set at $30 and will come with whatever amount of hay, carefresh, and food I have left at time of adoption. I will also send them home with they’re hiding space, nail clippers, and two litter boxes, two handing water bowls, and food bowl if wanted. They’re kennel is basically two Critter Nation cages zip tied to each other creating a big space. I’m up for selling the cages for $200 together, and it comes with fabric inserts. However, the cage does not need to go with them. Texting me is best way to reach me, but I will do my best to regularly check my email.

Rehoming because

I donu2019t have as much time as I wish to take care of them. We have another animal that needs the space they take to care for. Theyu2019re somewhat expensive and donu2019t have the funds to continue with them. Theyu2019ve never been super social and Iu2019ve tried working with them but they donu2019t like being handled and I donu2019t want to stress them out. Iu2019m also either allergic to their hay or them.

But I want THAT one!

Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found.
