Our Story

Hippo is a sweet skinny pig who is 1 year old. We got him for our young son who has Autism. We did not realize the sensory experience of his claws or gentle nibbles would be an obstacle for him, but it is.

Hippo loves nothing more than to be hand fed and held in a little fleece blanket. He seems to be potty trained enough where he hold in pee or poop for up to 15 minutes of interaction, especially when being held. He loves our two young children, and is comfortable being picked up, held, etc. We hope to find a loving home that can interact with him the way he deserves!

My son has Autism, and although he loves his skinny pig, is unable to hold him or physically pet him due to sensory problems. He is a wonderful, sweet skinny pig who loves red bell peppers & children! Very social but not needy.

Sorry, NO. Please do not contact the owner and ask about shipping guinea pigs. It is NOT possible. Please look for guinea pigs LOCAL to you! That's what this site is for--helping you find a guinea pig close to home to adopt and love.

But I want THAT one!

Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
