Alan and Babe - Rehoming for move to England

A Updated

Our Story

Alan Waits will be four years old in December, and Babe Ruth is a year old.

Alan likes cuddles every so often, but nothing beats a tomato in his eyes. He is a resilient little guy and has bounced back from some scary health issues multiple times. He doesn't have any specific extra care needs, but he needs someone who can spot when these issues arise. He retained a spinal injury in January 2024, which he made almost a full recovery from. He walks with a bit of a wobble, so keeping a soft (and dry) environment is of the utmost importance for him to keep the pressure off his back feet and decrease the irritation on his paw pads. I also watch for any signs of pain, but that hasn't been an issue for over a year. He has some vision problems that the vets aren't worried about and have just advised to keep a lookout for any changes. In my imagination, he is a professor that smokes a pipe and reads the newspaper. He's the kind of professor that is so smart in the classroom, but you have to wonder how he gets through his day to day life with his lack of common sense!

Babe is outgoing and excitable, and he loves learning tricks in exchange for any type of food. He has lots of energy and can learn to trust quickly, but he does not like to be pet or picked up. The tricks we are working on are helping him understand that being held is okay and allowing him to make his own choice to be picked up, but we still have a long way to go. He will try to bite if he is picked up with just hands, but it is pretty easy to hold him in a way that he can't. The best option is to have him go into a hidee (which he is also trained to do!) and pick up the hidee when he is inside. He talks all the time, and you will never forget to feed them and give them treats with him arround.

The two are strongly bonded, so they must go together. They will come with everything they need, including the large (22 sq ft) C&C cage pictured, some starter hay, treats, at least one full bag of food, toys, hidees, 5 fleece lineers, and more. Rehoming fee with cage, supplies, and piggies will be $80.

Rehoming because

I was offered a job in Manchester, England, and I am moving out of the country on August 3rd. I did everything I could to take them with me, but because of a variety of factors, it is best for them to find a good home and stay here.

But I want THAT one!

Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
