4 Sweet Female Piggies Rehome Needed
Our Story
A bit of backstory of the life of my piggies …
About five or six years ago, I was living in North Carolina and I decided I wanted a pet but where I lived I couldn’t have any dogs or cats so I decided I wanted a small animal and I came across a bunch of videos of guinea pigs and I figured they’re so cute, maybe I should get one! Little after this I was talking to a coworker who happened to have rescued 3 guinea pigs! She was driving down the road and saw a small cage on the side of the road and something told her to look and thankfully she did because she saw 3 little piggies left alone.. and it was raining! So once me and my coworker started talking she was telling me how she took them in because who wouldn’t who loves animals, but unfortunately, she did have a house full of animals already and wasn’t going be able to keep them for long, so I took them in!! It was the best choice I made because they were so sweet and so gentle just a thought of somebody leaving them on the side of the road was heartbreaking. Even though I didn’t know much about guinea pigs I did what I could to take care of them. Unfortunately, two of them happen to be sick not sure if it was due to them being in the rain or if it was a previous illness they had. Long story short I was grateful to find a family who rescued animals and took them in to give them the help they needed as I couldn’t afford it.
I now moved back to New Jersey and I have my one piggy Ms. Bobby Bobby is so calm and gentle. Her squeals are soo quiet. Fast-forward a couple of months being in NJ I was still learning a lot about guinea pigs and I really realized that I shouldn’t have separated Bobby from her sisters so at that point, I decided I needed to find her new sisters so she wouldn’t be alone. So I found a family who had 2 guinea pigs and their daughter lost interest in them so I took them in and now Bobby had 2 new sisters, Pebbles and Bubbles. It took some time to get the bonded 2 to bond with Bobby, but after some time they were 3 peas in a pod.
So fast forward a little bit more to present time a few weeks ago a close friend of mine who had 2 piggies, came home from work hearing one of her piggies crying, and saw that the other passed away. So the other piggy was heartbroken to not have her sister and due to my friends career and her other pets, she wasn’t planning on getting another guinea pig. So I decided to take in Cupcake so she wouldn’t be alone. I’ve only had her for a couple of weeks and I slowly introduced her to my other 3, and I was so shocked because the way they clicked with her was insane how quickly they took her in.
During this time, I was actually in the process of moving. So as much as I’m trying to readjust furniture to be able to provide them with the space that they need unfortunately the space that I’m in now is smaller and I wouldn’t be able to give them that full space that they need I originally wanted to even expand their cage, but I have come to the conclusion that I will only be able to downsize their cage and that is not something I want to do.
