Rehoming because

Hi! My name is Kelly, I'm 21 years old living in Orlando, Florida, and looking to rehome my two sweet 4 year old Abyssinian piggies, Scooter (girl) and Wumpus (boy). I got these pigs when I was 16, and as I've gotten older, life has gotten increasingly busier (I attend undergraduate school full time at UCF and also work full time as a paralegal) and I'm just not able to devote as much time and attention to them as I used to and think they would be happier to live out the rest of their lives in a different home that will be able to tend to them in the way they deserve. Ideally, the pigs would go to someone who already has experience with guinea pigs, or someone who can show that they are very educated about them. Scooter and Wumpus are both fixed, so they should bond relatively easier with other guinea pigs as well than if they were not fixed.

With the piggies, I would include their 20 square foot C&C cage, all of the fleece liners I have for them, their water bottles, hay rack, hidies, toys, any leftover hay and dry food, treats, nail clippers, etc. I have helped foster and rehome guinea pigs in the past, but since these would be my last 2 before having none, I would be willing to give all of the remaining piggy items I have with them to a good home.

I am not looking to be paid for rehoming these pigs, but please understand that they can be very costly as they need to go to an exotic vet with any issues, they need to have access to fresh timothy hay at all times (which usually costs me around $90 or so every month just for that), fresh veggies every day (they normally eat romaine on the daily, with sometimes a mix of celery, green bell pepper, endive, carrots, and they love occasional fresh basil or blueberries as a treat).

Wumpus is an incredibly social and sweet piggy, he loves being pet (not necessarily picked up, but no piggy likes being picked up haha), but he would sit there and take head/chin scratches for hours if you'd let him. Scooter is a little bit more skittish when it comes to be touched, but still very social and will climb up on the cage right next to Wumpus when it's time for food.

Some medical history: Scooter has had babies one time in the past before we knew that she was a girl as we were told both of them were boys when we got them, but only had two babies in her litter and was fixed thereafter. Scooter also had a tumor on her back one time that needed to be surgically removed, but is now fully healed. Both of them had lice at one point a couple of years back, which is really common for guinea pigs, but was treated and has not come back. These are all pretty standard issues that guinea pigs face, I just wanted to disclose same.

I've attached as many photos as I could here to showcase the pigs and their cage, but if you have any questions or want additional photos, please feel free to reach out to me and I'll be happy to provide.

I can be reached via text or phone on my cell at 904-415-7935, or via email at nyfelerkelly@gmail.com.

I ask that you only reach out if you believe you are going to be able to properly care for these piggies, as they are definitely used to a life of being spoiled and I wouldn't want anything less for them. If you are wanting to get these pigs as a "starter pet" for a child, I would need to know that an adult would be closely monitoring the care of them as guinea pigs are much more fragile and sensitive creatures than you might think, and should not really be viewed as a "starter pet" anyways. Lastly, if there are ever any issues with them, I would ask that they are returned to me instead of rehomed to someone else.

Again, if you have any interest, please do not hesitate to reach out to me on either my cell (904-415-7935) or to my email (nyfelerkelly@gmail.com).

Thank you very much!

But I want THAT one!

Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living.
