The 2 year old crested male shakes his head rapidly, runs away, and chatters when you try to pick him up, but he's ok being held and petted for a long time. He was surrendered by my daughter's friend's family of 5 kids, who lovingly handled him alot. They tasked me with finding him a friend after his beloved cagemate died and he was depressed. He's still grumpy at his very best, but is at his best (for him) because of his new friend, who is a 5 month old American short hair.
His friend was a rehome from Craiglist. His original owner was surprised that his pet store pig was pregnant with him after they got her. He is super active, as is the case with many young pigs, is always the first and the loudest to lead the chorus of 7 pigs in the room when there's food potential, and now doesn't mind getting pet on his head in his cage. He still plays "catch me if you can" when you try to pick him up and is ADHD when holding him briefly, but he'll learn and calm down as he gets older. They both look they are brothers (big older brother and little younger brother) because they have similar colors and black eye liner :) They are starting to squabble a bit in their 4x2 because the little one is growing up, which is normal. In turn, they'd be best in a 2x6 with fleece.
Modest rehoming fee may be waived for those who are experienced with GPs.
Can you SHIP?
Sorry, NO. Please do not contact the owner and ask about shipping guinea pigs. It is NOT possible. Please look for guinea pigs LOCAL to you! That's what this site is for--helping you find a guinea pig close to home to adopt and love.
But I want THAT one!
Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
