We got this guy from Craigslist in September. Before purchasing him, the girl I got him from told me that he had experiences with kids that were rough with him, and that he probably wouldn't be happy with kids.
When we got him, I naively believed that my 5 year old would have been more gentle with him, but found out that she had been acting unfriendly and rough with him. He has become very nervous and does not want to be pet or held, and rumbles very strongly in protest when he is held.
He needs to be in a home that is quiet, no kids, where he can be patiently helped to trust humans again. Unfortunately, I don't believe that can happen for him in my house. He was such a calm and gentle guy for the first few months with us, and I'm hoping he can get back to that.
Sorry, NO. Please do not contact the owner and ask about shipping guinea pigs. It is NOT possible. Please look for guinea pigs LOCAL to you! That's what this site is for--helping you find a guinea pig close to home to adopt and love.
But I want THAT one!
Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
