North Star Rescue is a rescue for pet rodents based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with locations in Danville/Diablo, Napa, Santa Rosa, Sonoma and San Jose. We are a network of private foster homes and public adoption outposts. Our foster homes may be entirely private, showing their animals at adoption events, and some also permit private adoption appointments for animals under their care. Our public adoption outposts are partnerships with privately owned pet stores that show adoptable animals in their store, where you can visit animals at any time without an appointment.
North Star Rescue provides rescue, foster and adoption services for Guinea Pigs, Rats, Hamsters, Mice and Chinchillas. They primarily take in animals who would otherwise be euthanized at shelters, and accept private surrenders of animals when space permits at the rescue.
I adopted a very large Guinea pig as a companion to my loney extremely large piggy. She was healthy and adjusted well. We had her for about a year, then she caught a cold and passed away. She was wonderful, I would definitely adopt from North Star again. They were concerned with finding the right home for Marge and were up front with me about her having been returned from another adopter because she was grumpy with other guinea pigs. I chose to adopt her and she did adjust and settle in with my pig Bubbles.
Sorry, NO. Please do not contact the owner and ask about shipping guinea pigs. It is NOT possible. Please look for guinea pigs LOCAL to you! That's what this site is for--helping you find a guinea pig close to home to adopt and love.
Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
