In the beginning I personally was not affected until recently while cleaning their cage I broke out in bad hives and have been getting them ever since. My friend's allergies are much worse and her piggies should be the first to go more urgently than mine. there are a total of 10 piggies. My oiggies are a bonded pair, two females about a year old. In her house she has a bonded trio of males, a bonded group of 4 females, and one single male who is pretty mean to any other guinea pigs. He does not bite people, in fact he is very hungry for our attention. These guinea pigs started as two but the pet store did not get the sexes correct which is how two turned into 10.
UPDATE: There are 9 total guianea pigs now due to one passing away. There is a single male who can't be bonded with anyone due to agression and a single female who has just lost her cage mate. We have tried to get her to bond with the others but she is fairly aggressive as well so she is alone. We would like to keep two of the females and the rest are up for adoption. There is a group of 3 males, a pair of females, one single male and one single female.

Yes, that one is adorable and looks just like the one you must have for your very important reason or you will not be able to go on living. But, there are many more in your area that are just as wonderful. Perhaps they are not listed here, but they can be found. The piggy in need waiting for you near your own back yard might look a little different, but could melt your heart anyway!
